Maedeh Javanfar
Maedeh Javanfar (September 15, 1994 – October 25, 2022)
Maedeh Javanfar, a 28-year-old nurse from Ramsar living in Rasht, lost her life on October 25, 2022, during the revolutionary movement "Women, Life, Freedom" after being shot and then beaten with a baton.
This devoted and freedom-loving nurse worked multiple shifts for three full months during the COVID-19 pandemic to serve patients, but after some time, the hospital terminated her employment.
Maedeh's sister later revealed in an audio recording: "They killed Maedeh by beating her. Her face was bruised, and they kicked her pelvis."
The authorities only allowed Maedeh's body to be returned to her family for burial under the pretext that she had died in an accident. Generally, officials of the Islamic Republic justify protesters’ deaths by claiming suicide, pre-existing conditions, dog bites, or even that protesters shot each other.
